You can go to the
type browser to get a quick look at
all of the currently available object types on the site. If you don't find it there, don't despair!
Head on over to the
feature suggestions forum
and suggest a new type that you would like to see!
There's also a tree on the left side of the site that shows a minimalist display of the most interesting and popular object types.
The most interesting types (in the opinion of
42) are highlighted.
Or, you can go directly to your own lists:
The basic idea is that Know
?list! allows you to:
- easily create objects by uploading your own images (and optionally naming and describing them)
- create lists of the objects that others have added to the site (what are your favorite DVDs?)
- give ratings and reviews to any object on the site (go ahead and give George W. Bush a rating!)
- easily find out what others like (if they like the movie Titanic, what other movies do they like?)
- talk about anything in specialized forums
- easily search everything
Do you love or hate president
George W. Bush?
If you love him then
add him to your favorite presidents list.
If you hate him then
add him to your hated presidents list.
In any case, if you feel strongly about him then
talk about him in the forums
or
write a review about him!

Know
?list! is built specifically to make it as easy as possible to get data into the system.
- You can upload a file full of images and then give names and descriptions to each one. (This is what I do for 90% of all the exclusive content on the site.)
- You can enter and/or edit each object individually using our object editor.
- If you are an admin then you can create an XML file using any format you like and we'll import it using our XML translation tool.
- You can create an RSS feed and we'll import the data on a regular schedule.
Right now
anyone can upload images and create objects. But, only admins can edit
objects created by other people. If you want to become an admin then feel free to ask in the
I wanna be an admin! forum.
There are numerous things that are planned for this site. Eventually this site will open up to
be a wikipedia-style system where anyone can edit almost anything. For now only admins are allowed
to edit objects created by others.
Keep an eye on the
news forum
for new features I add to the site.
